One-Day Rattlesnake Aversion Training

March 22, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Riverbend Park, Jurupa Valley, CA

$110 PER DOG

Living in Southern California means beautiful hiking trails, open spaces and rattlesnakes.

Rattlesnake encounters are a very real risk for dogs in our area, especially during warmer months. Even well trained dogs can instinctively investigate movement, scent, or sound. Unfortunately, curiosity can be life-threatening.

Rattlesnake aversion training teaches your dog to recognize and actively avoid the sight, sound, and scent of a rattlesnake. The goal is simple: create a clear, lasting association that keeps your dog away from danger even when you’re not right beside them.

This training is strongly recommended annually, as reinforcement helps maintain avoidance behavior and keeps your dog’s response sharp year after year.

Registration and Policies

Registration is currently open exclusively to our current and previous clients as a priority opportunity to secure a spot. General registration will open to the public on Saturday, March 7th if any spaces remain.

This training fills up extremely fast, and demand has been very high. Historically, spots do not last.

Please do not register unless you are fully committed to attending. Each time slot is intentionally limited, and when you reserve a space, you are taking a potentially life saving opportunity away from another dog. If you have multiple dogs, we ask that you reserve ONE TIME SLOT PER DOG.

We take these appointments seriously, and we ask that you do the same.

*Payment must be made within 24 hours of registration. No exceptions.
No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the event.

FAQs

How does rattlesnake aversion training work?

1

Dogs are exposed in a controlled setting to the sight, sound, and scent of a rattlesnake. The goal is to create a strong avoidance response so your dog chooses to move away from a snake rather than investigate it.

Does my dog need to attend every year?

2

Yes. Annual reinforcement is strongly recommended. Like many learned behaviors, avoidance can fade over time without reinforcement. Yearly training helps keep your dog’s response sharp and reliable.

How long is each session?

3

Each dog is scheduled for a 20 minute time slot. Please arrive on time to ensure the schedule stays on track.

What types of dogs should attend?

4

Any dog that spends time outdoors in Southern California should attend. This includes hiking dogs, neighborhood walkers, backyard explorers, and even dogs who accompany their owners to parks or open spaces.
